Betty Keck

EXPERT TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS, INC.

As the Co-founder and Principal at EXPERT TECHNICAL CONSULTANTS, INC. (ETCI), Betty Keck brings over 15 years of significant technical expertise and a keen understanding of emerging IT trends to her clients. ETCI is a leading provider of Information Technology consulting services that delivers robust and highly scalable, customized business solutions.

Keck is responsible for growing the business around ETCI’s core competencies: Application Development, Database Development, Web-enhanced Solutions, Staff Augmentation and Outsourcing. Keck is also intimately involved with account management, the sales/marketing function, recruiting as well as the supervision of technical staff.

She has distinguished the firm from the competition by fully understanding the challenges in the marketplace and by delivering targeted IT solutions to meet customers’ specific needs. Under Keck’s entrepreneurial leadership, she has built ETCI from its infancy to a company with 4M in annual revenues.

At the CITY OF COLUMBUS, Keck provided technical leadership and consulting during the City’s critical transition from a legacy system to a UNIX HP environment with ORACLE. As the on-site Oracle Database Administrator, Keck performed all activities related to installation and deployment of a third-party vendor application suite with numerous Accounting modules. She established policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance and use of the system. She also designed training tools and mentored the junior staff.

While on-site at LUCENT TECHNOLOGIES / AT&T, Keck was the Project Manager overseeing software evaluations, proposals for implementation, requirement gathering, and design specifications for the Corporate Billing System (TBILL). In this capacity, she supported billing applications using ORACLE and its products, providing extensive user training. She spearheaded all follow-up, troubleshooting, reporting and quality control while continuing to evolve the billing system.

As a Senior Consultant, Keck was instrumental in the development and implementation of the client/server applications using Visual Basic and SQL Server for the Returned Goods System at ROSS LABORATORIES. This business process reengineering allowed for more efficient product tracking, resulting in five million dollars in savings.

Prior to establishing ETCI in 1991, Keck was the Systems Development Manager for a variety of computer consulting companies, where she developed software applications supporting multiple departments using ORACLE RDBMS (and its products) and C programming in a UNIX environment. And, for several mortgage firms, Keck maintained and supported existing networks, installed new systems and managed the hot line support services.

Keck earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a Major in Computer Science from the University of South Florida.
